How to choose a milk jug?

Steaming milk and making latte art are two of the essential skills for every barista or coffee lover. The ideal temperature for milk recommended by the SCA is 55-65°C (139-149°F).

The choice of a milk pitcher will depend on the intended use, the desired precision for latte art and the amount of milk to be frothed.

If you need to steam milk for several coffees at the same time, choose milk jugs of more than 600 ml. If you are only going to prepare one or two coffees, a 350ml milk jug will be enough.

For precise latte art and fine details, choose a milk pitcher with a sharp spout. If you prefer to make simpler shapes such as hearts, a rounded spout will work perfectly.
